UPDATE 2: Server should now be operating at full potential. A few things to note: those who had various access to various things, still won't have access to them until you see ME or BROPHY in game, and get us to fix it for you. Please don't whine or moan, and if you haven't read this and don't know that the secret word is "allirog" then we won't do it for you.

I'll go into a little bit of detail about the changes now, for those who are interested, if you're not, don't read. The old way the server worked meant that every time a player connected, the accounts file (Which is an xml file) which held thousands of accounts was read and written. This was putting the server under a huge amount of load due to the size of this file. This in turn was causing the network trouble, and causing the accounts.xml to occasionally get wiped. This shouldn't happen, and hopefully MTA will fix it at some point, but it prompted us to make a few changes to our login system.

We did have two login systems running at the same time, with things being stored in the database (like money, wanted level etc) and your access to certain groups done via the accounts xml (access to desert eagles for example). This meant it was (at least to start with) a straightforward switch to a new system, but a few other things cropped up. The login and logout commands are hardcoded into MTA, and they deal with the accounts xml. So we can't use them anymore, instead we have a new command 'kill' which should serve the same purpose. This will kill your character, log you out and give you the spawn menu. Now it is all done via the database, which means that the server doesn't have to touch the accounts.xml at all, and we've removed all accounts from there. Don't worry though, as mentioned before, all your accounts are safe and sound in the database. And we're accepting new registrations already!

From what i've noticed since being on the server, my framerate has improved. No network trouble at all, and an overall smoother way we handle logins and player groups. There may still be bugs, if so see below as to where to report them.

UPDATE: Server is back online for now, using our own made account system (I wont go into detail about how the mta built-in account system is), but making our own has relieved our server of its lag and cpu usage, and gameplay should be smooth again

It should be noted there will be bugs that need ironing out and stuff that you cant access for now, here are few:

• Groups are being made to tie into own new account system which uses a database rather than xml files
• Login details are exactly the same, so is all your money and whatever, so don't try to blag us you have lost loads of money
• For those who spawn special classes on the server, with groups being changed, you wont be able to access Admin, Homeland or Desert Eagle spawns for the time being
• STOP ASKING WHEN IT WILL BE DONE, OR WHY THIS OR THAT DOESN'T WORK, PLEASE REPORT BUGS TO http://bugs.saesrpg.net (also search that no one has posted about the same bug!)

Hi Guys,

The server is currently down while we perform some urgent maintenance to the way the server handles your login information. This update will fix:

• Network Trouble every time somone connects
• Accounts being wiped and having to restore to a backup
• Speed of logging in
• Amount of server downtime

Please bear with us while we do this, if you are looking for someone to blame you can direct your aggression towards that little cunt Madis (actually it isn't his fault, its cos MTA is shit).

We will update this post to let you know how things are going, but for now my evening plans (wanking to goat porn starring our very own BrophY and zZenom) are ruined.
